Solveig Slettahjell

This year we’re proud to present Solveig Slettahjell in the University Aula. She’s one of Norway’s leading jazz vocalists and has been awarded both the Spellemann prize and the Radka Toneff Memorial prize. A great favourite with audiences, she’s played the OJF on numerous occasions, most recently at the Opera together with legendary French composer/pianist Michel Legrand in 2015.

This year she released her latest album Live At Victoria,a recording of a concert played to a packed house at the Nasjonal Jazzscene Victoria with Slettahjell on piano and vocals, Pål Hausken on percussion, and featuring the gospel choir Safari. With the same  line-up she will be performing similar material at the Aula, a venue with the acoustic qualities and the Munch-inspired atmosphere that we hope will raise her music to even greater heights.
