Oslo Jazz Festival is a non-profit foundation with the purpose of producing a festival of 60+ concerts at 15 venues in the center of Oslo every year in week 33. The festival was founded in 1986 and covers a broad range of jazz styles.
We are now looking for a visionary and ambitious festival director with a strong drive for contributing to great musical experiences in many of Oslos music venues.
The director will be a prominent ambassador, who has the ability to connect and create good partnerships and meeting points across different arenas, to promote jazz. This ability is central when meeting performers, partners, the media, decision makers and a wide range of audiences.
The right candidate has solid professional experience in leadership and management, and inhabit personal knowledge of how to build and maintain relations. A high level of competence in artistic and strategic development is essential. They have significant knowledge about the jazz scene both nationally and internationally, and have built a substantial network both home and abroad. Knowledge of cultural politics and social topics is also preferred.
The festival director reports to the festival board. As director for Oslo Jazz Festival you’ll be a part of an administration with three full time employees, situated in a large and modern office space at Sentralen, in the city center of Oslo. The festival has a long tradition of collaborating with volunteers before and during the festival, which is still the case today.
This is a permanent position. Start-up by agreement, preferably around 1st of August 2023. Application deadline is 8th of January, but applications will be processed consecutively until the deadline.
