Concert in the forest with Ellen Andrea Wang and Oslo Hiking

Enjoy a forest walk followed by a delightful jazz concert under the open sky!

In cooperation with Oslo Hiking, we are happy to welcome you on this special experience on August 19. Our adventure begins at Jernbanetorget in central Oslo. From there, we take the subway to Voksenkollen station. We then will wander into the beautiful Nordmarka area, eventually passing Øvresetertjern lake. Here, we will slowly hike down the King Olav's trail through the forest. After a short while, we reach Schrøderbakken, a historic ski jumping hill hidden in the forest. The Schrøder brothers constructed this hill at the beginning of the 20th century, making it one of Norway's most unusual ski jumps at the time. It's also interesting to note that King Harald jumped here when he was the crown prince in 1949.

Here we will find a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy the weather, beautiful nature around and the charming music played Ellen Andrea Wang – double bass, vocal and composer. From collaboration with Sting, Manu Katché, and Marilyn Mazur, to performances at major Jazz Festivals, to her appearance with the vocal Jazz Group GURLS, to her own projects Pixel and the Ellen Andrea Wang Trio, Wang has consistently sought to tastefully blend Jazz and Pop in new ways. Her compositions and performance balance the the lyrical with the rough, the acoustic with the electric, resulting in a unique modern sound.

After the concert we make our way back down to Frognerseteren station and return to Jernbanetorget, where our journey began.
