Eco-Lighthouse

The Oslo Jazz Festival has been Eco-Lighthouse certified since 2018, and our overarching goal is to be an inspirational arena for health, environment, and safety.

The festival involves many people and serves as an important inclusion and integration platform for volunteers, as well as a workplace for musicians and administration. Being a Eco-Lighthouse is just as much about the work environment as it is about the external environment, and both volunteer work and employment at Oslo Jazz Festival should be enjoyable, developmental, and safe.

Balansemerket

The Oslo Jazz Festival has been awarded the Balansemerket by Balansekunst for our efforts to create a safer music scene.

The Oslo Jazz Festival aims to be a safe space for everyone, whether they are volunteers, musicians, audience members, employees, partners, temporary workers, or otherwise associated with the festival. Therefore, the festival demands equal standards from all involved parties.

The festival's ethical guidelines are based on the principles developed by the Norwegian Jazz Forum, but tailored to suit our organization. You can find the guidelines here.

Balansemerket is a certification against discrimination and sexual harassment in the cultural sector. We offer training, guidance, and tools to assist arts and culture organizations in their work towards a safer and more inclusive work environment.
