Erlend Apneseth is one of the leading Hardanger fiddle players in Norway. He has made a name for himself as an exceptional composer and bandleader, and his last album “Salika, Molika”, earned him a fourth Spellemannsnominasjon in 2019.
“Fragmentarium” was a commissioned work to Kongsberg Jazz Festival in 2019 where it was performed at Kongsberg Church. “Fragmentarium” was released as an album in January and has pulled in great reviews from both old and new admirers for his avant-garde approach to jazz and folk music. Two genres of traditional music the merge into something new in Apneseths hands.
For “Fragmentarium” Erlend Apneseth has chosen a dream team of collaborators, musicians from ensembles like Atomic, Skadedyre, Moskus and Broen. Stein Urheim on guitar, Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson on bass, Ida Løvli Hidle plays the accordion, Anja Lauvdal on keys and electronic, and Hans Hulbækmo on drums.
