Espen Eriksen Trio was formed in 2007 and has gained a strong position on the international jazz scene. The band's musical signature is characterized by melodic minimalism, as well as excellent conveyance of beautiful, lyrical moods.
The band has toured on four continents, selling out shows in every corner of the world - among recent tour destinations we find the Faroe Islands, Germany, Poland, and Seoul.
The trio has released four critically acclaimed albums on the prestigious Norwegian record label Rune Grammofon. The BBC referred to the trio's third record as: “A wonderfully plaintive jazz record, abandoned to the lost art of melodic minimalism, stripped back and beautifully near bare. No smoke and mirrors, just the graceful chemistry of superb musicians at the top of their game. ”
In September, Espen Eriksen Trio will release their fifth record, "End of Summer" and at the Oslo Jazz Festival there will be an exclusive premiere of the new repertoire, as well as songs from the trio's catalog.
