Jazzintro: Damata

Tuesday 17th August 17:30

Sold out

Based around improvisation, the trio Damata brings their own references into relatively simple compositions inspired by, among other things, American jazz from the times before the first time Norway voted against an EU membership, Nordic jazz after Norway joined NATO and classical music from after Norway separated from the union with Sweden. With references to genres such as hip-hop, electronics and ambient, Damata tries to go beyond the normal within the guitar trio concept. The debut album 'What's Damata' will be released during the spring of 2020 on Dugnad Rec.

Line-up:

  • Torstein Slåen (Otta) – guitar
  • Karl Erik Horndalsveen (Tønsberg) – bass
  • Ola Øverby (Hedalen) – drums
