Rymden is Bugge Wesseltoft’s latest band, with himself on keys, Dan Berglund on double bass and Magnus Öström on drums.

It was a long-time dream of Bugge Wesseltoft lead a piano trio, and Magnus Öström and Dan Berglund were a perfect match. Both of them accomplished jazz musicians that have proven themselves in the Scandinavian jazz circuit since the early 90’s. While Wesseltoft was innovating with his New Conception of Jazz (1996), Öström and Berglund put their mark on the jazz scene with Esbjørn Svensson Trio. It was only natural that such creative powerhouses combined forces and made Rymden. A group built on three tenets: Melancholy and atmospheric songwriting, dramatic rhythms and virtuoso piano playing, with influences ranging from modern jazz and Bach to movie scores and alternative rock.

They released their latest album Space Sailors early 2020 and toured until lockdown. For this year’s festival we luckily have been given the chance to see Rymden on stage again bringing Space Sailors back to a festival crowd.
