This evening marks the release of Mulelid's Piano, Unfolding. His concerts are characterized by a close and intimate presentation where beautiful, melodic compositions are broken up by playful, open parts and powerful virtuosic outbursts. The audience is invited up close — into a space that is naked and vulnerable, but never stagnant.
Mulelid is one of the most active and distinctive pianists in Norwegian jazz life. In his expression, jazz, classical, hymn tradition and improvisation merge together, both in his own playing and in his compositions. He has released over 20 albums as a solo artist, with his own bands and in various collaborations. Kjetil Mulelid Trio, Agoja, the two jazz quartets Wako and Beiggja, as well as collaborations with vocalist Siril Malmedal Hauge, are some of his many active projects. Now he is ready to release his second solo album with a powerful solo concert at Juret på huset.
