Since their comeback concert in May 2019, Maria Kannegaard Trio has played several festival and club shows to unison cheers from both the audience and critics. On record, however, the trio has not been heard since the album "Camel Walk” in 2008, so when the long wait finally ended with the release of "Sand i en vik" in 2020, it was in itself an event.
Kannegaard is in many ways one of Scandinavia's greatest pianists, and through her work as a highly inspiring educator, her unique musical identity has influenced a number of pianists.
The “Sand i en vik” album was received with a number of brilliant reviews. In addition to this, the trio was awarded the Spellemann Prize in the jazz category for the album.
After the comeback at Jazzfest in 2019, the trio has performed at festivals such as Moldejazz and Nattjazz, and this summer they’ll pass by Kongsberg Jazz Festival's before Oslo Jazzfestival will havethe honor of having them on the program in august.
