Mona Krogstad is a promising young saxophonist and composer, educated at jazz conservatory at NTNU in Trondheim and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Despite her young age, she has already managed to become a familiar face to Oslo Jazz Festival's observant audience. She was part of the festival's talent program NordicShowcase (now known as Oslojazz Talent) in 2021, and has been seen on stage as part of the band Juno both in the festival's main program and Nordic Showcase.
Mona Krogstad Quartet is a band consisting of very active musicians, who met in Trondheim two years ago. Through solid compositions and beautiful melodies, the music in the Mona Krogstad Quartet moves in a landscape that’s open for improvisation and playful interaction. She draws her inspiration from saxophonists such as Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson, in addition to contemporary Scandinavian jazz. The band will release their debut album in the fall of 2022.
