Music in orbits | Oslojazz 2024

Orbits is a musical collaboration between the three renowned performers Lars Horntveth, Natalie Sandtorv, and Erlend Mokkelbost, known from projects such as Jaga Jazzist, Montée, and Neon Ion. They delivered a commissioned work for Moldejazz 2022 under the name Glass, and the band has now re-emerged under a new name with an upcoming album set to be released in the near future.

Musically, it is both adventurous, psychedelic, and progressive, while also having clear elements of R&B and soul. The references are dense, ranging from Thundercat to Sade, Arthur Verocai, and Phillip Glass.

They are joined by a stellar team of musicians from bands such as Fieh and Elephant9, where crystal-clear synths and sharp edges are woven together, creating a groovy and danceable universe. It will undoubtedly be a fantastic experience in the backyard of Becco this Saturday!
