A groove-organism

As the name suggests, Wavemakers is a quartet building large momentum, forming a 'groove-organism'. Tuva's violin floats with ease, Amund and August give grounded momentum, and Alex leads in the midst of the ‘wave’ with his warm keystroke.

Originally from New Zealand, this is Alex Ventling’s long-term chamber-jazz project. Each player has an equal role in the musical tapestry, where the unique instrumentation opens worlds of sounds. The band aims to build tension over long stretches, where singular ideas are given weight and time to evolve within songs.
