Parade: Sonic Sensation

The parade is back! | Oslojazz 2025

For the first time in many years, the Oslo Jazz Festival kicks off with a parade around the city! It’s the youth sensation Sonic Sensation that will set the tone for the festival, with a high-energy set of funky jazz.

Sonic Sensation starts playing outside Sentralen at 11:15, and the parade will then move toward Spikersuppa, where the party continues at the Oslojazz Ung outdoor stage from 12:00.

Sonic Sensation consists of over 40 musicians from the school bands of Kjelsås, Uranienborg, and Marienlyst schools, ranging from 8th grade and up. Behind Sonic Sensation Oslo is Marius Gjersø, musical director and conductor for all three bands.
