In addition to their notable recordings, Pom Poko has made a name for themselves as one of Norway’s most unique live bands. One would have to admit their career has been nothing short of a comet since the release of It’s A Trap in 2017. The following years, the quartet has been nominated for multiple Norwegian Grammys, made “the album of the year” according to Aftenposten, been nominated for Nordic Music Prize, The Bendik Award, and of course toured all of Europe for sold out venues.
Towards the end of 2020 Pom Poko released the first singles from their second album. One of which (“Andrew”) was dubbed song of the week by BBC1. January 2021, the album was finally released as a whole. Cheater received glowing reviews and was shown plenty of interest worldwide, despite the general conditions of the year it was released.
No less than a year later, Pom Poko was ready to release new music. We can not wait to experience their unique and innovative compositions and arrangements live as part of Oslojazz 2023.
