Doppler plays his own compositions, where strong rhythms are contrasted with beautiful melodies and harmony. With vibraphone and piano together, possibilities are created for wide soft soundscapes, but also sharp complex textures. Doppler has his feet firmly planted in American swing jazz, but also plays with a Nordic openness and draws inspiration from classical and contemporary music. With a focus on expanding forms and structures, Doppler invites the listener to perk up and be prepared for anything.
