Trio Mediæval & Arve Henriksen

Trio Mediæval is a Grammy-nominated soprano trio that performs medieval, contemporary and folk music. They possess an unique warmth and ethereal timbre making the Norwegian trio recognized across the Scandinavian borders.

Trio Mediæval was formed back in 1997 in Oslo and is comprised of Linn Andrea Fuglseth, Jorun Lovise Husan and Anna Maria Friman.

The group has toured extensively through both Europe and the US, playing all kinds of venues. From churches, cathedrals, and chapels, to farms and nightclubs. Among notable venues is Wigmore Hall in London and the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York.

Arve Henriksen is one of Norway’s most innovative and active musicians. Praised for his uniqueness as a trumpet player and his inspired cross-genre work in the field of jazz and and avant-garde. Trio Medivæl and Arve Henriksen released the album Rimur in 2017, inspired by traditional texts from Norway, Sweden, Island and the Orkney Islands. The album received great reviews from several foreign news outlets including The Guardian and allaboutjazz.com.

Trio Mediæval & Arve Henriksen will perform in Grønland Church during Oslo Jazzfestival.
