Veslemøy’s world | Oslojazz 2026

Veslemøy Narvesen won the talent award at the 2020 Oslo Jazz Festival and returned the following year to the National Jazz Scene with the work We Don’t Imagine Anymore. Now, five years later, she returns to the same stage and Oslo Jazz Festival with a brilliant ensemble and the newly released album Letting All Light Through.

Narvesen, whom many have come to know in recent years as a versatile and highly sought-after drummer, has made a strong mark on the Norwegian music scene through bands such as Mall Girl, Dafnie, and Schemes Quartet. With her second album under her own name, Letting All Light Through, Narvesen once again showcases multiple facets of her musicianship by performing as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and arranger.

Since releasing her debut album We Don’t Imagine Anymore in 2023, Narvesen has continued to challenge genre boundaries with an even more ambitious, meticulously produced, and fully realized artistic expression. On Letting All Light Through, the boundaries of what modern and alternative pop music can be are stretched through its clear openness to musical influences and references. The music was written partly as part of a collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, with this album serving as the studio-recorded versions of the pieces. Thematically, the album portrays contrasts: darkness and light, despair and hope.

For the concert, Narvesen is joined by a stellar lineup of the country’s young jazz musicians, ready to create musical magic at Victoria.

Veslemøy Narvesen – drums, vocals, Bethany Forseth Reichberg – vocals, percussion, Anna Ueland – synth, Oliver Skou-Due – piano, Zakarias Meyer Øverli – saxophone, Håkon Brunborg – guitar, fiddle, Nicolas Leirtrø - bass, baryton guitar

Concert starts: 21.00
