The star duo´s majestic project completes the Oslojazz-programme for Cosmopolite.

We are proud to present Daniel Herskedal & Emilie Nicolas at Oslojazz 2024!

In the thickest fog in the pandemic, star tubist Daniel Herskedal composed the commissioned work Out of the Fog for Jazzfest in Trondheim, featuring pop sensation Emilie Nicolas on vocals, who also wrote the lyrics. Out of the Fog is a magnificent and atmospheric project, with Herskedal's picturesque tonal landscapes and Nicolas' crystal-clear vocals.

This will be the first concert they perform together since the album was released in 2022. It is also the first concert without audience restrictions due to the pandemic. In other words, this is a rare event that you simply must attend! Tickets here.

We have in total four star studded concerts at Cosmopolite, with Alfredo Rodriguez Trio, Vieux Farka Touré and Alexander Abreu & Havana D´Primera.

Alfredo Rodríguez Trio

The Cuban composer and pianist Alfredo Rodríguez has truly made a name for himself with a heartfelt and brilliantly executed Latin jazz style drawn straight from the streets of Havana, his hometown. As he himself has stated: "I play what I live." He has transitioned from a young promising pianist to a recognized, Grammy-nominated star worldwide.

Vieux Farka Touré

On Thursday, August 15th, the audience will have the opportunity to experience the rich desert blues from Mali with the dazzling guitarist Vieux Farka Touré - at the peak of his career! Touré has embarked on a musical journey, culminating at the very origins with the album Les Racines, meaning "The Roots."

Alexander Abreu & Havana D´Primera

Alexander Abreu & Havana D’Primera is Cuba's most popular salsa orchestra, and the band will perform in Oslo this late summer, specifically on August 16, to sway the audience with Latin rhythms!

The 16-piece band, founded by trumpeter Alexander Abreu, consists of Cuba's foremost musicians who play timba, the contemporary salsa music of Cuba. Abreu, who is also a vocalist, is known for his sophisticated and melodic voice, and the musicians play melodies that fuse salsa, jazz, RnB, funk, and Afro-Cuban folklore.
