Dream team plays masterpiece
April, 26th, 2026:
It’s not just Oslojazz celebrating an anniversary this year—it's also 100 years since Miles Davis was born. And of course, that has to be celebrated! To mark the occasion, Nils Petter Molvær has assembled an all-star lineup to perform Davis’s album Bitches Brew, one of the most important albums in jazz history. The concert takes place at Cosmopolite, Saturday August 15th. Tickets can be purchased here.
On the 1970 double album Bitches Brew, Davis dives deep into the mix, stirring together jazz, rock, and funk as the main ingredients, thereby laying a strong foundation for the fusion genre. With an incredible lineup featuring, among others, Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, and Jack DeJohnette, a powerful brew was created that sent shockwaves through the music world.
To recreate that intense and hypnotic electric Miles soundscape, Molvær has brought together an exceptional group of musicians: Kristina Fransson, André Roligheten, Marte Eberson, Jon Balke, Hedvig Mollestad, Audun Erlien, Veslemøy Narvesen, and Gard Nilssen.
It will be a full stage and a full celebration when the festival week at Cosmopolite wraps up with a cosmic bang.
