At the age of nineteen, Markus Midré made his debut as a writer with the poetry collection teori om tusen skygger (1995) and received glowing reviews. He has since pubished the collections Mirakelarkivet (1996), Kom alle mennesker (2000), and Formular (2003). At the same time, he has made his mark as a fine-tuned prosaist, confident in his style with the novels Elefantene (1998), Lungene (2002), Tunnel (2008), Et ærlig ansikt (2015), and Biografi over ulevde dager (2020).

As the festival lyricist for Oslo Jazz 2023 he will be writing poems about this year’s concert experiances.
