High-voltage supergroup
Stetson, Westerhus & Dahlen is 1017
April 21st, 2026:
1017 is a high-voltage trio consisting of Colin Stetson, Stian Westerhus, and Erland Dahlen. The band name refers to the enormous amount of energy (1017 TeV) required to form a black hole. It can also refer to the energy level on stage when three extraordinary musicians like Stetson, Westerhus, and Dahlen come together.
Later this year, their highly anticipated debut album will be released, followed by an extensive tour. This includes this concert at MUNCH Saturday August 15th, which will be their premiere on Norwegian soil. It may well stand out as one of the festival’s major highlights! Tickets can be purchased here.
The trio balances raw power with emotional depth. Colin Stetson is widely known for his rumbling and shaking saxophone tones, whether with Lou Reed, Bon Iver, or his own projects. Here, he builds massive walls of sound together with Stian Westerhus’s masterful and distinctive guitar playing—always in a class of its own. Erland Dahlen completes the trio with his unique percussive drive and rhythmic understanding, filling out the soundscape.
1017 is unlike anything else out there. It’s not just another band, but a gravitational force of its own. Expect an intense live experience where sonic extremes meet emotional honesty and masterful songwriting.
