Jazz at Munch this fall

Two great concerts awaits you

This fall’s program for Jazz at Munch is ready and you can expect two glorious concerts with Why Kai and Daniel Herskedal!

On Friday October 16th at 21.00, Why Kai will be having a release party for the album Light & Mud. Light & Mud is a two-part album, with the A-side and B-side representing two different facets of Why Kai’s artistry. Tickets can be bought here.

Mirroring the album, the concert will also be in two parts, and the line-up – consisting of regulars Kai Von der Lippe (keyboards) and Elias Tafjord (drums) – will be expanded for the occasion with Joel Ring (double bass) and Tuva Halse (fiddle). They will reconfigure the Festsal with custom built stages, specially designed visuals and more.

On Saturday November 21st at 20.00, you can experience a tribute to Norway’s breathtaking winter landscape with Daniel Herskedal. Herskedal’s groundbreaking Call For Winter project has become a central feature of his career. A one-man mission where he composes and records everything himself, isolated in a mountain cabin – a tribute to Norway’s beautiful winter landscape, but with the current dark times as the backdrop.

To date, the composer and brass player has performed Call for Winter at nearly 60 concerts in 14 different countries, mostly in surround sound. Surround sound and soundscapes will also feature at MUNCH, where he will unveil the world premiere of Call For Winter III – the triloigy’s third and final instalment. Tickets can be bought here.
