Jazz at Oslo Pride
Free jazz at Oslo Pride
May 26th, 2026:
Once again, the National Jazz Scene and the Oslo Jazz Festival join hands to present jazz and related music at Oslo Pride — a colorful and important celebration of diversity and freedom of expression. We believe that Phønix could become your new favorite music and a wonderful addition to your Oslo Pride experience!
At Panorama in Pride Park, you can catch Phønix performing two concerts, at 17.00 and 19.00, in addition to DJ Vic spinning records from 21.00.
Ecstatic energy that hits all the right spots! Phønix is guitars, saxophone, and drums, with a sprinkle of machine magic, where familiar elements of jazz, psychedelia, krautrock, prog, avant-garde, and pop come together — all with their eyes fixed on the stars. Quite simply, this is intergalactic rock and jazz colliding in a pulsating surge of electricity!
Led by Emil Storløkken Åse, Phønix has quickly established itself as a dynamic and explosive live band on the Norwegian music scene. In 2025, they also achieved their European breakthrough — highlighted by an outstanding performance at Athens Jazz before thousands of audience members at Technopolis. They have just released their first live album, LIVE 2025, where you can get a taste of that energy.
Their third album, Dancing on Mercury, has already been recorded and will be released next year, packed to the brim with “vintage space-club” rock songs. During Oslo Pride, you’ll also get to hear brand-new tracks fresh off the press. Join them out into the cosmos!
Emil Storløkken Åse – guitars, Jenny Frøysa – baritone saxophone, bass synth, August Glännestrand – drums, drum machine
DJ Vic invites you to an unforgettable evening during Oslo Pride with sparkling gold from a wonderfully offbeat musical history. Lucky Larsen will give the dance floor a healthy dose of summer jazz — a light, warm breeze that quickly builds into grooving hypnosis! Free your feet for an energetic musical journey celebrating diversity, freedom, and pure joy of dancing through lightly syncopated gems.
