New festival director for Oslo Jazzfestival

Line Juul has been employed as festival director for Oslo Jazzfestival

Currently, Juul is a senior advisor at Arts and Culture Norway, and will begin working as festival director in august. Director Øyvind Larsen will stay on until the 2023-edition of the festival is completed.

Line Juul is from Levanger in Trøndelag. Since 2008, she has been the festival producer for Nasjonal Jazzscene in Oslo. Before this, she worked as a booking agent for Kalleklev Management in Bergen. She has also been a jury member for among others, Jazzahead and the Norwegian Grammy-awards.

Chairman of the festival board, Svein Skarheim, states:

- This process has been very inspiring. There are many great professionals in the Norwegian music industry, and the best have shown interest in this position. It’s been a privilege to meet them all.  Line Juul was our top candidate, with solid experience, expertise and interpersonal skills. She has what it takes to bring this festival towards new artistic goals.

Juul herself is looking forward to embarking on the new position:

- Quality, sustainability and balance are important focal points for me as festival director. I look forward to offering the very best of Norwegian and international jazz to the festival audience together with the festival staff and our committed volunteers.
