Thank you for an amazing festival
One for the history books!
26. August, 2024:
Oslo Jazz Festival is over for this time and the festival can look back on an enormously successful week, both in terms of a consistently sky-high artistic level, and in terms of the number of audiences. Close to 11,000 tickets were sold for this year's festival, which is an increase of 35% compared to the 2023 edition. There were a total of 20 sold-out concerts, in addition to many full houses at the festival's free concerts around the city. Many thanks to artists, audience, our wonderful volunteers, venues and sponsors, for making this year's festival such a success!
- We are still floating after a fantastic festival week. We opted for a broad and diverse program of high artistic quality, and this turned out to be a formula for success. Our goal was to create a party week for the entire jazz community, and I think we succeeded. In addition, volunteer registration was a record high, which is very gratifying and not least crucial for the good implementation. It is great that the interest in jazz and quality rhythmic music is alive and well, says festival director Line Juul.
There has also been tremendous interest in the festival's Oslojazz Talent concerts, with a particularly large turnout from a younger audience.
- It is particularly nice that this year's festival audience consisted of so many young people. The backyard at Becco, Juret and Herr Nilsen was buzzing with young people jamming, listening and hanging out, and the quality of the Oslojazz Talent concerts was sky high. The future of jazz is bright, both from the stage and among the audience! concludes Juul.
We’ll see you next year!
