Over the last two decades The Source have proven themselves as a rock solid jazz institution in Oslo. In 2019 the quartet consisting of saxophonist Trygve Seim, trombonist Øyvind Brække, bassist Mats Eilertsen og drummer Per Oddvar Johansen, celebrated the 25thanniversary for the project The Source of Christmas at Cosmopolite. They’ve also impressed jazz fanz with the Source of Summer album and concert at The Norwegian National Theatre, an exciting collaboration with rock legends Motorpsycho, and not least as the quartet the Source.

– We are excited to present the Source of Oslo as our opening concert at the Opera.  The Source has given us improvisational music with impulses from every possible corner of the world during the last two decades. This will be a celebratory evening with ground-breaking music that will praise the city of Oslo, says festival director Øyvind Skjerven Larsen.
